The Stupid Things People Say (Reprise)

Forget for a moment, the stupid, vacuous arse dribble spouted by the cretinous Leo Hickman – that is pretty much par for the course. It’s the comments that make for some interesting examples of rampant idiocy and hypocrisy. This, from someone called jigen for example:

Curious that the deniers are playing the victim card. Funny that they throw around terms like McCarthyism and thought-crime. How paranoid and histrionic can one be?

And Paul Krugman stating that people who disagree with him are guilty of treason isn’t at all histrionic, is it? Oh, no.

The more I look, the more I see parallels with the Inquisition, here. Of course, if these people were so sure of their reasoning and ability to argue a rational position, they would not need to silence their opponents with the threat of prosecution for treason, would they? I mean, for fuck’s sake!

On a side note, I am bemused at the somewhat modern fetish with climate stability. The Earth’s climate has changed before and will continue to change until the sun goes supernova – then it will become very stable indeed. Until then, the best thing to do is roll with it – adapt or die.

  1. Well, might one observe that those on the sceptical side of the argument are emphatically not calling for those in the pro-AGW camp to be arrested and jailed for ‘Climate change denial’. What is that, if not a ‘thought crime’?

  2. Several times now I have posed the question, What weather pattern would denote no global warming? The alarmists cannot tell you,” we are all doomed ” I reply.
