Anonymous; Criminal Scum

Anonymous had a setback when Spanish police arrested some of their number for online criminal activity –  and be sure, DDoS attacks  are criminal activity.

All of which is amusing as Anonymous seem to think that they are more clever than the rest of us, but got caught out because, actually, they are not really very clever at all:

Some of the attacks made by Anonymous members used a web-based tool called Loic to bombard target sites with data. The websites of PayPal, Mastercard and Amazon were all targeted using this tool.

It seems that Loic did a poor job of hiding the identity of the people using it. It is believed that some police forces have already moved against the group based on this information.

Oh, dear, how sad. Well, it made me smile. And just rewards all around.

Having identified the perpetrators and gathered sufficient evidence, the arrests were perfectly proper. Now it is a matter for the judicial process.

Anonymous, however, seem to believe that they are above the law and have engaged in a childish display of pique.

The website of Spain’s national police force has been briefly knocked offline by hacker collective Anonymous.

The attack on the site was carried out in retaliation for the arrest of three Spanish men the police claimed were ‘core’ members of the group.

Retaliation. FFS! They carried out a crime. If you can’t take the consequences, don’t do it. The police were acting correctly in arresting the suspects. Who the flying fuck do these egotistic retards think they are?

The group said DDoS attacks were a legitimate form of peaceful protest.

No. It. Is. Not. It is a criminal act and in the case of the attacks against Amazon and Paypal, they were criminal acts against organizations that were merely exercising their right of free association. I wouldn’t want to be associated with Wikileaks, either. If you engage in cyber crime against innocent parties, you face the consequences of having carried out a criminal act and quite right, too. A few hefty gaol sentences might concentrate what little minds these cretins actually have.

And let’s be clear here, these turds do not speak for liberty, they are not freedom fighters waging a war against the oppressor, they are criminals engaging in deliberate harm against their targets. They speak and act only for themselves; a bunch of cyber vandals with too much time on their hands and precious little of any worth between their ears.

  1. The internet is serious business. Anonymous doesn’t even exist in the way you and the media understand..it’s just a bunch of bored kids. and in no way a ‘hacker collective’

  2. Bravo, Sir; bravo. Whilst I have a sneaking admiration for their campaigns against Scientology, in the main they seem to be a shower of cretins. This should indeed focus their attentions away from criminal activities. Had they gone to Amazon HQ and destroyed the physical ‘shop front’ they would have been arrested, charged and convicted. They’re not freedon fighters, they’re prats and they don’t speak for anyone truly interested in freedom of speech.
