The BBC is running a Panorama programme on fuel theft. One of the comments made me smile:
If the rising cost in fuel is fuelling the thefts…
Of course it is. If you tax something until the pips squeak, people will seek alternatives. It’s why people go on booze and fags runs across the channel. It is why there is now a burgeoning trade in illicit fuel.
So, sure, they will go after the thieves, but you can be equally sure that they won’t do anything about the root cause…
Back to the used frying oil in cars, suitably treated and converted of course.
