Artwork for Mobiles

So now you can get an Emin or a Hirst for your mobile device.

Limited edition contemporary art for mobile phones, designed by the likes of Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin, has been made available to buy online.

The original authenticated artwork can be downloaded for display on phones, tablets, computers and TVs.

Works will be created in limited runs of between 2,000 and 10,000 and will cost between £5 and £500.

I think it’s fairly clear what I think about much modern art –  wankery produced by charlatans. Apparently Emin thinks that having reached a certain level, she has priced herself out of the market. Frankly, that’s fine by me. Nothing she has produced so far has any merit as art.

When these people can create work that matches Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Turner, Constable, Monet or Manet, they might produce something worth a fiver. As it is, I’ll pass, thanks all the same.

If you were to buy a neon, well most people couldn’t, so this way they could actually have a neon in their room, in their living room, at a party for example on their screen, and it is reasonably inexpensive.

Most people probably wouldn’t. Having seen these neons, I wouldn’t give them a second glance, let alone part with money for them or desecrate my living room. Jeebus.

That’s the funniest thing I’ve read all day. 😆
