Jumping the Shark

It does look as if the BMJ has indeed taken a leap over the toothsome fish.

The researchers identify other health-related reasons for keeping the current limit, including the increase of gas emissions, air pollution and a potential rise in obesity due to more people taking advantage of shorter car journeys.

Yup, an 80mph limit –  an increase of a mere 10mph will lead to obesity as people resist walking up the motorway in order to save a minute or so –  not that we tend to walk for journeys that need a motorway, but that’s merely nitpicking, isn’t it?

Anyway, the Telegraph provides a robust rebuttal of this piece of rampant quackery…

Er….

Um…

  1. I see in that article that the BMJ are also ‘challenging’ the Government to provide evidence. I dispair. The BMJ have never supplied evidence of any of their claptrap, ever. Not real evidence.

  2. They look at our cocks, put their fingers up our bums, take insane amounts of money from us, deny us sleeping pills, keep us waiting interminably and now they are Masters of the Motorway.

Where are MBChB1961 and Theodore Dalrymple when we need them?
