Es ist nicht Rassismus

Okay, so it was appalling behaviour. It was, maybe, mindless prejudice, but it was not racism.

Mr Sharp, who was widowed two years ago, said it was the worst racism his daughter, an employment lawyer, had faced.

Mr Sharp is an English born Caucasian. His daughter is half German. Last time I checked, the Germanic peoples were also Caucasian –  i.e, the same race as the indigenous English. Not least because the indigenous Caucasian English are a bastard breed comprising of a mixture of DNA from, among others, the Germanic tribes. That someone is discriminated against for speaking a different language is not evidence of racism. That it was reported to the police as a hate crime is also typical of the thin-skinned silliness that we see today. The appropriate (and proportionate) response would be to walk out and never to visit the pub again –  and to make sure that as many potential customers as possible know what an intolerant harridan the landlady is, not to go to the police, FFS! And not to insult our intelligence by claiming that is its racism. It. Is. Not.
