A Dish Best Served Cold

I can understand why Vicky Pryce decided to shaft her erstwhile philandering husband. But, revenge, sweet though it can sometimes be, is short lived when it backfires.

The former wife of ex-cabinet minister Chris Huhne has been found guilty of perverting the course of justice by taking speeding points on his behalf.

Vicky Pryce, 60, who had claimed Huhne had forced her to take the points over the incident on the M11 in 2003, was convicted at Southwark Crown Court.

The judge warned the pair faced jail, while the Crown Prosecution Service said it would try to recover costs.

That is one expensive act of retribution.

  1. Well the marital Coercion defence was never going to fly was it? Cowed browbeaten little Housefrau, Ms Pryce definately is not.

And I can’t help feeling that ex hubby had the better lawyer. She should have pleaded guilty and saved the coercion for mitigation. Then she’d have probably got a suspended sentence, while he is going down.

She did us all a favour though. That arrogant evil bastard could have ended up deputy PM, when the knives come out for the boy Clegg.

  2. I’m sure, secretly, she thinks it was worth every penny so she can pay every single one.

Lie down with dogs and you get fleas. Scratch, woman, scratch !

  3. Well, we can now explain to others – with an example – the exact meaning of “a phyrric victory”

  4. I just can’t believe how stupid she was. There was no way that she could make her allegation without also going down for it. I have no doubt that this sort of thing is done frequently. This case has certainly shown that one should never ever talk about it.
