I agree with pretty much every word of it. Meanwhile our witless government are building ever more useless windmills and preparing to turn a fifth of our power stations off. We are considering buying a bigger genny.

The lights were switched off on the Isle of Arran all right – practically every last one of them.
It’s thanks to the Global Warming you know – the weight of it brought down some cables somewhere, apparently, and caused substations to trip or fuse or explode or whatever it is substations do.
Anyhoo – a nice rehearsal for when the grown-up power stations have all been shut and the wind doesn’t blow; we might as well get used to it.
