Islam is rejuvenating “British values”, the former Archbishop of Canterbury has claimed while lambasting sections of the press for presenting Muslims as “un-British”.
Rowan Williams was giving a speech at the annual Living Islam Festival in Lincolnshire on Friday, discussing what British values were and how Muslims could affect them.
I don’t understand why the ghastly old bugger doesn’t just convert and be done with it. Of course, if by British values, he means absolute intolerance of opposing viewpoints, labelling people you don’t like as being phobic and generally suppressing any form of dissent – or, lord forfend, anyone suggesting that incoming cultures are adversely affecting the host one for the worse – then, yes, Islam is the epitome of British culture that has been thrust upon us by the unholy alliance of Islam, the leftist apologists and their useful idiots. If however, one subscribes to older, more tolerant values where differing viewpoints, no matter how repugnant, are tolerated and people are allowed to express those opinions without being censured, without petulant demands for grovelling apology and resignation from one’s job or, worse, criminal prosecutions, then Islam is diametrically opposed to British values. It is an intolerant, proselytizing religion; one with a medieval and incompetent political and legal system that uses the deranged rantings of a paedophile warlord as some sort of “truth”. It treats women as inferior and those of us who do not subscribe to its delusional belief system as even lower – we may, according to its scriptures, be killed for nothing more than being unbelievers. We have seen how Islam conducts itself when unchecked and it isn’t nice. It is brutal, barbaric and primitive. And Rowan Williams is still sucking up to it.
There is only one reason this vile religion is any way British and that is because so many Muslims have made this place their home that with time, as they multiply, they will engulf the indigenous culture. Yes, then, truly will Islam reflect British values. A country fit for Rowan Williams.
The values of Islam are about as far from ours as it is possible to be. Williams is just jealous because lots of Muslims still take religion seriously and do what religious leaders tell them to. He, on the other hand is an irrelevant anachronism and when he comes out with tripe like this we can all see why.
