Playing the Race Card

‘Tis the way, these days. If you dare to speak out against someone who happens to be black or part black, or not of Anglo Saxon stock, you is a racist.

Boris Johnson has been accused of “dog whistle racism” and “base politics of the worse kind” after remarks about Barack Obama’s Kenyan heritage – as Nigel Farage echoed the controversial comments.

The London Mayor – who is backing the campaign for Britain to leave the European Union – criticised the US President for his intervention in the EU referendum debate, adding his attitude to Britain might be based on his “part-Kenyan” heritage and “dislike of the British Empire”.

In a column for The Sun, Mr Johnson referred to the removal of a bust of Winston Churchill from the Oval office when Mr Obama became President.

All of which is either fair comment or a matter of fact. Not one part is remotely controversial. However, the usual suspects, rather than engage with what Johnson has to say, go straight for the “racism” ad hominem. It’s a cheap trick designed to stifle dissent.

“Mask slips again. Boris part-Kenyan Obama comment is yet another example of dog whistle racism from senior Tories. He should withdraw it,” said the Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell.

McDonnell is someone who has reached late middle age and still believes that Stalinist Communism is a reasonable method of governance, despite the evidence of the twentieth century (not to mention the piles of bodies). Which means that he can be written off as not very bright – much like the interfering Obummer, frankly.

“As our most important ally, President Obama has the right to offer his view and he has made it clear that being in Europe magnifies British influence and enhances Britain’s global leadership.”

Actually, no, he doesn’t. He doesn’t have a horse in this race, so despite any opinions he might have, he should keep them to himself and refrain from interfering and attempting to influence the outcome. Does the British Prime Minister interfere in US elections? No. Well, shut the fuck up and keep out of our domestic elections, then.

  1. I think that simply pointing out that it is non of POTUS’ business and leaving it at that would have made the point better. That and pointing out that the claim that the UK would have more influence globally by being in the EU is pretty much a reversal of the truth.

  2. “As our most important ally, President Obama has the right to offer his view and he has made it clear that being in Europe magnifies British influence and enhances Britain’s global leadership.”

    1. If he is our most important ally then the 27 other EU states aren’t as important as allies so why should the UK want them as such?
    2. Being in Europe (I think he means the EU since if we left it we’d still be in Europe – Americans, huh?) cannot magnify British influence because it’s only one of 28 member states, therefore it has 1/28th share of influence which is a position of no influence
    3. Having such a tiny fraction of influence cannot enhance Britain’s global leadership whereas if Britain had 100% share of influence that would enhance global leadership (and doesn’t fhe realize just how bloody patronising and insulting that comment is?)

  3. Can we arrest the part-Kenyan for being a Mau Mau sympathiser?

If he was bright, he would have seen acquiring another table as a solution to having a bust of Martin Luther King in his office.

  4. I don’t quite understand the dog whistle analogy, is it a special kind of racism that only SJWs can hear?

    • A dog whistle is where you say something that is perfectly true and correct, but SJWs choose to interpret your words in a negative way that you never intended. For example, it is perfectly reasonable and true to observe that Obama is a part-Kenyan, Islamic apologist who hates Western Civilisation and has betrayed those who elected the bastard, but SJWs will interpret that as racist.

  5. Boris has Balkan origins and has blue eyes. According to geneticists the eye colour mutation took place at a time when the human population of that area was still more African in its form than it later became. In any case at some time in the past we all have ancestors of one race or another. Sometimes I see myself as a sort of suburban Genghis Khan, in my dreams.
