Let it Snow, Let it Snow

The snowflakes are out in force, it seems. Amazon has upset their delicate sensibilities with its range of fancy dress costumes.

Amazon has sparked outrage by continuing to sell ‘racist’ and religiously offensive fancy dress costumes despite criticism from customers.

The online retail giant is offering a ‘traditional black burqa hood’, ‘Arab costume’ and Jesus garment as part of its selection of party outfits.

The ‘Arab’ tunic and headdress, with a ‘Palestine’ scarf, is modelled by a white man covered in what looks like face paint.

I think it’s probably fair to say that the complainants here are not customers, they are professional whiners who see racism lurking under every bed and if they don’t, they go seeking opportunities to find offence and be duly offended by it. The correct response to such people is “oh, do grow the fuck up and get over yourself”. After all, no one is forcing them to buy the products and if enough people agree with them, they will disappear from sale due to lack of demand. Simple, eh?

Meanwhile, Steve Martin has fallen foul of the offendatrons over a tweet (yup, Twatter strikes again).

Steve Martin was forced to delete his Twitter tribute to the late Carrie Fisher after critics labeled the remembrance as ‘sexist’.

Fisher’s death at the age of 60 took her fans, friends and family by surprise and Martin was one of the many celebrities who voiced his shock and sadness at her passing online.

‘When I was a young man, Carrie Fisher was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen. She turned out to be witty and bright as well,’ the comedian wrote on Twitter.

Some on Twitter came out to criticize Martin’s post however, saying that his attention first on her physical appearance before her personality wasn’t the right way to remember Hollywood princess.

Oh, fer gawd’s sake. These people really, really need to get over themselves. Martin’s mistake here is to cave in and delete the comment. The only way to deal with these bullies is a robust defence – or, better still, to ignore them, not to acquiesce to their demands.

  1. Jesus wept, and i hope that offends a few on its own.

Every young red blooded chap i know enjoyed looking at Carrie Fisher in her prime, i suspect more than a few women enjoyed the view too, so bloody what? a lovely looking young woman who sounded nice to listen to and yes, had a brain to boot.

As for the offendatrons, couldn’t give a flying fuck about them and their issues, the sooner we relatively normal buggers completely ignore the sods the better.

In Britain but much of the western world we have a robust sense of humour where we laugh at ourselves and our won failings as much as we do each other, and most importantly, something these snowflakes need to learn, we don’t actually take ourselves all that seriously, they should try it sometime its quite liberating.

  2. Maggie Smith is a great actress, Elizabeth Taylor was a great actress, but Maggie Smith would never get a role that Elizabeth Taylor was up for would she? What could be the reason for this do you think? Yep Movies are image driven, only fools and Lefties deny this simple fact.
