  1. The word ‘hero’ gets over used a lot these days but in this case it is absolutely right and its nice to see the French are going to reward him appropriately – French citizenship and a job with the Firebrigade, which will mean he will no longer have to brave the cold of a Paris night catburglarising …(ok I couldn’t resist, but PROPS to him!). Can’t help thinking that in the UK he would be in Belmarsh now and suing the yUK.gove for compo for that pulled shoulder muscle.

    • Because he didn’t carry out a proper “risk assessment” and nor did he have the appropriate “safety equipment”

Hence Elf ‘n safetee would be all over him like a bad rash. You can be sure of that.

      • He also touched a CHILD without being CAB checked and ,worst still, used an unapproved restraint grip on said child.

        • It was the kind of comment that carries with it an element of truth. I’m absolutely sure the police would have made some sort of comment along the lines Rapscallion mentioned and not to do the job of the professionals or some such.

        • James, being a frequent visitor to this site, I could plainly see that Longrider’s comment was facetious. My response was factual, and a bit tongue in cheek, but then the company I work for is fanatical to the point of obsession about “Elf and Safetee”

Personally I think the bloke did the right thing, but “Elf and Safetee” will definitely NOT see it that way – being the fascistic jobsworths that they are.

  2. Mind you, now he has french citizenship he’ll be straight on the train over her and claiming benefits!

  3. Ha!
I am more impressed that the 4 year old whilst tumbling down 15ft from the balcony above had the presence of mind not to mention strength and presumably adult sized hand to grab the next balcony rail down to halt his trip to near certain death.
