Here We Go…

Brian Cooke is in trouble.

A former Transport for London board member branded three suspected graffiti artists killed when a train struck them ‘common scum’, it was revealed today.

Brian Cooke, who was suspended by the Tories this year for calling a rival a ‘two-faced s***’, tweeted the extraordinary abuse hours after the tragedy at Loughborough Junction yesterday.

Oh dear, cue a huge Twatter storm of the usual offenderati who think these dead vandals should be bestowed with respec’ innit. However, he is absolutely right. They are scum. As I mentioned yesterday, they were scrotes who were trespassing with intent to deface property. What part of that does not qualify for scumbagdom?

In response to a BBC report on the incident Mr Cooke, from Beckenham, south London, said: ‘Why do BBC News keep referring to the guys killed at Loughborough Junction as graffiti ‘artists’ they are no such thing they are common scum and criminals who cost the railway millions and keep fares high’.

Well, yes, quite. I’ve been saying this from when I first had to go out and help scrape a trespasser off the line – although not, on that occasion was vandalism involved. However, the general point remains, those who do it are inconveniencing a great many people. And Cooke is right, they are not artists any more than Wanksy is an artist. They are vandals who deface other people’s property and should be regarded as such. Scum.

His message prompted fury online, with one critic responding: ‘What a horrible & disgraceful thing to say. They’re people’s sons, show some respect!’

Didn’t take long, did it? Why should these scumbags be shown any respect whatsoever? Respect is not some sot of right. It is earned and these creatures earned nothing other than contempt. I do not respect them and will make no pretence to do so.

  1. Let’s hope they all qualified for Darwin awards by failing to breed before they were spray painted over the rails.

  2. Perhaps those same parents will be completely ok with a group of people going round to thier houses tonight and “tagging” the properties with street art, innit.

I mean it’s only kids expressing themselves, innit.

  3. @LR

You have plagiarised my today’s post on Meh before I posted it. Most unsatisfactory. Candidly you should not usurp my ideas 😛

Anyway, I was ROFL when I read this in DM. Well said Brian Cooke, UK needs more robustly honest people like you speaking truth however unpleasant.

  4. Respect! Fuck Off. Someone only gets respect off me, when they’ve bloody well earned it and not before.

  5. Amen to that. I posted up suggesting these vandals (I used the term) should all get Darwin awards .

  6. Had to laugh when I read the story. Bright enough to find a place that was not noticeable from street-level, too dim to realise that trains run 24/7.
    Result!

  7. Is there a list of virtue-signalling phrases that they copy and paste?

*heaven has a new star tonight
    *sleeping with the angels now
    *he lit up every room
*he was so talented with a wonderful life ahead of him
*she was loved by all her fellow students
    *he was a lovable prankster
    *everyone loved him/her/them
    etc

      Aspiring…

      …DJ, rapper, grime[crime?], gangsta… 😉

…his mum & gran said he was a good boy, but misunderstood

Said “good boy”? – probably; said “misunderstood”? – doubt it, word too long 😛

    • It makes a change from that old favourite, “he/she didn’t suffer fools gladly”, i.e. was an obnoxious bully.

  8. Jay, you spelled angles wrong.

On the subject of knowing a song about that. The Crash Test Dummies song Mmm Mmm Mmm was spoofed by Wierd Al.

Once there was this boy who
Took a trip to Singapore and took along his spray paint.
    And when he came home
He had cane marks all over his bottom.
He said it was from when the warden hit it so hard.
    Mmm Mmm Mmm etc…

The spoof version is called Headline News, there is a video on YouTube if you want to look for it.
