Does the banning of Alex Jones signal a new era of big tech responsibility?
No.
What it does signal is an intolerance of thinking and views that do not conform to the current orthodoxy. It is not, however, an attack on Jones’ free speech as Google is not obliged to provide him with a platform. Their decision to remove the You Tube platform, though tells us much about them. And it isn’t very nice.

Google: Do Be Evil
What it does do is open up liability. If a platform engages in any form of editorial control, then it becomes responsible for all the content ever posted.

Many others have made same point on Alex & other bans
imho they’re correct. Obscure T&Cs do not usurp law.
