I Don’t Think So

A frog on the throne?

A man is suing Buckingham Palace claiming his ancestors were rightful heirs to the throne – because his gran had an affair with King Edward VIII.

Francois Graftieaux, 73, who has twice requested a DNA sample from the Queen without success, says his family were cut from the Royal bloodline in the early 1900s following the alleged illicit tryst.

He claims his father, Pierre-Edouard, was born out of an affair between the-then Prince of Wales and his granny Marie-Leonie Graftieaux – a French seamstress.

All of this is entirely possible. However, as history tells us, the bastard son never inherits. Remember what happened to the Duke of Monmouth.

So good luck with the court case, but don’t expect anything other than legal fees in return.

  1. My thoughts exactly. No illegitimate boy gets the throne. Henry FitzRoy, strapping son of Henry VIII, though given a title et al, didn’t make it to the big one as he was a bastard. Pity. It would have solved a lot of madness to do with religion.

  2. Maybe I need to put in a claim, I’m sure I would be a better king than Charles would be.

Yup. They are being played at their own game. Direct action as it were.

  3. Peter Cook as E L Wisty: ‘We’ve all got royal blood in our veins, you know. It’s the best place for it in my view. We’ve all got a little bit of royal blood in our veins, we’re all in line for the succession, and if nineteen million, four hundred thousand, two hundred and eight people die, I’ll be king tomorrow. It’s not very likely but its a nice thought and helps keep you going.
