Another Fun Poll

The BBC asks the question.

Much of the world is in some form of a coronavirus lockdown. So if you saw someone breaking the rules, would you report them? Is it a civic duty – or spying on your neighbours? And what determines this difference?

Well, if they need to ask the question…

Around the world people have obeyed orders to stay home – but many like housemates Jenny and Veronika have faced a dilemma over when, if at all, to report the rule-breakers. Is it their civic duty – or should they mind their own business?

What dilemma?

Take New York City – the epicentre of the virus in North America. Its reporting hotline was overwhelmed within days of its opening – but with prank calls and mockery as opposed to complaints.

Gotta love those colonials.

So, in the meantime, just for fun, of course:

    Dear BBC,
I have no idea. Why not ask that woman on Mumsnet who missed the happy clapping last week?
Now fuck off and stop asking stupid questions.

  2. If I saw Ms Staat sneaking into Kneel’s den……
But then what would be the point?
I would probably be arrested.I am totally the wrong type.
Re. The poll, the third option is too severe if answered honestly, otherwise I would have picked it

  3. It’s why we are now Permitted to go sunbathing and have picnics, plod switchboard overwhelmed with snitchery.
Maybe their phone logs will get hacked and the snitchers snitched.

  4. Once again we are being reminded not to take advantage of upcoming sunny bank holiday weather to flout Covid regs.

What sort of mind thinks a bank holiday makes the slightest difference to people who have been off work for 6 weeks?

    • When every day is like a 1950s Sunday I find it very hard to notice weekends let alone a Bank Holiday.

If the government had a shred of backbone they would announce complete end of lockdown now, but they won’t they will dribble out easing of restrictions for months, prolonging the ruin, increasing confusion —well, they don’t have any respect left to lose I suppose

      • Oddly enough, the people supporting them are the very people complaining that they were a dictatorship in waiting just six months ago.
