Protest Too Much

People – including MPs are saying that protests should be allowed.

Politicians across the House of Commons have called for Priti Patel to change coronavirus legislation to allow protests despite lockdown.

More than 60 MPs joined campaign groups Big Brother Watch and Liberty in writing to the Home Secretary to say it is a human right to demonstrate.

Tories Steve Baker and Sir Christopher Chope as well as Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey and Labour MPs Diane Abbott and Dawn Butler signed the letter.

I’m all for it. If people can gather together to protest, then they can gather together for any other reason. If this is the chink in the armour, then yes, let’s dismantle the monstrosity of the Covid (2020) act and get back to normal life.

  1. If you can have a protest, you can have a rave
If you can have a protest, you can have the Glastonbury festival
If you can have a protest, you might as well abandon all the other restrictions which have got us this far…

    • Yes. Come to Glastonbury for a protest. While you are there enjoy the entertainment put on for you.

  2. How I despise these people. They only kick up a stink about protests when people that they agree with get a kicking from the Police, anyone they disagree with and all you hear are the crickets. That isn’t how it works you contemptible fuckers, you should have been defending this right for everyone from the start. Also what John said.

  3. If you are not complaining about lockdown you are enjoying it.

I hadn’t thought about it till now, but we have been in this lockdown since November 5th. 5 fucking months!!!!!

  4. There’s a lot of diversion in article

The issue is not Corona virus laws. It’s the Police & Crimes Bill which allows police to ban any protest, including (Section 60) One Person protests, if it may be cause inconvenience or be noisy

It passed second reading last week

Hats off to Cons Anne M Morris & Sir Charles Walker and DUP for abstaining
