The first test of a project backed to spray millions of tonnes of chalk into the stratosphere, in an attempt to ‘dim the sun’ and cool the Earth, could happen in June.
Harvard University experts will test the system by sending a large balloon 12 miles above the Swedish town of Kiruna and have it drop 2kg of chalk dust into the stratosphere.
The aim of the estimated $3 million mission, backed by billionaire Bill Gates, is to have the chalk deflect a portion of the sun’s radiation, stop it from hitting the surface, and cool the planet.
How is this blatantly terrifying lunacy being allowed to happen? On the basis of their overweening sense of righteousness and arrogance, they want to experiment with the life source of our planet.
We already know what happens when a sizeable amount of dust enters the upper atmosphere because it’s happened before. We get a nuclear winter. Fer cryin’ out loud.
The idea has been heavily criticised since its inception, with project director Frank Keutsch even calling the need for this scale of geo-engineering ‘terrifying’.
And experts have warned that the unusual technique could be disastrous for weather systems in ways nobody can predict.
Well, yes, quite. That is putting it mildly. We have these people meddling with something they do not fully understand. It starts to make Snowpiercer look like a documentary. The sheer arrogance on display here along with the lack of concern for the devastating effects that they are likely to unleash is unbelievably horrific. And these people plan to go ahead with their insane project.
This could then be fed into computer models to determine what would happen if it were ever carried out at scale.

The fuckwits haven’t yet noticed that we have entered a cooling phase already. In England there was a period in the late nineties and early noughties when it never snowed in winter. 2010 was a bit of a freak event but, since then, a little snow has started to become a feature of winters. Of course, the poles have stubbornly refused to melt as those computer models demanded.

As with your other question, I don’t know. But terraforming an uninhabited planet is somewhat less risky than damaging the one we are living on.

So what? Is 5degrees C really that bad? They say some parts will become uninhabitable.

What about the parts that are currently uninhabitable because they’re too cold that will become habitable? Will they be larger or smaller than the loss?
Besides, a lot of the planet is barely habitable as is. Just look at the Gobi desert, or Siberian tundra, or Bradford. If these places get a bit warmer, it might actually be an improvement. Except Bradford. That place just sucks.

No, it isn’t stupid. Read Agenda 21 and Agenda 30. “They” want to reduce the worlds population to around 500 million or by 95% depending on who/what you read.
People are vastly reluctant to get into the cattle trucks for some strange, inexplicable reason and disposing of the remains is problematic (though they ARE biodegradable).
A mini ice age where the worlds food supply is vastly reduced will achieve this result and as the attrition will be over a relatively prolonged period, then the survivors will bury the dead. Two problems solved at once.
One of the reasons the Black Death was so devastating in Europe was because – surprise, surprise – it coincided with a mini ice age, people were starving and in poor health so their immune systems could not fight the infection. Studies on the skeletons of the victims confirm their malnutrition. Naturally the elites will have their bolt holes and plenty of firearms and hired help to allow them to maintain their standard of living. The rest of the population will be effectively slaves or at best serfs.
