I quite liked Joni Mitchell’s stuff. However, she’s not been relevant for decades, so I don’t suppose Spotify will miss her any more than they will miss Neil Young.
Joni Mitchell has told Spotify to remove her music catalogue “in solidarity with Neil Young” amid the backlash over Joe Rogan’s podcast.
This is like rats rushing to get onto a sinking ship. The narrative these people are blindly following is falling apart. Rogan isn’t spreading anything. He runs a chat show and unlike the mainstream media, he doesn’t censor people for their views. He allows the listener to make an informed decision based upon what they hear. Mitchell and Young seem to think that they know better, that they should be the gatekeepers of information and they should decide whether it is misinformation or not, because we, the great unwashed, are too stupid to reason for ourselves. We need our betters to do it for us.

While the statement didn’t name Rogan directly, it referenced “irresponsible people” who are “spreading lies that are costing people their lives.”
Uh, huh. Name them. Name the lies, specifically and give us a list of lives they have cost. Go on. Do it. Put your money where your mouth is.

Absolutely. At least these geriatric hissy-fits might wake people up to the fact that not only have Mitchell et al not been relevant for decades, they have also effectively been for decades ‘The Man’ that they spent their crusty youth railing against.
Oh, yeah. The only thing I know about Mitchell is that back in the ’90s she stopped Fluke releasing their single “Joni” with a sample from the only record of hers anyone under 60 has ever heard of, so they had to re-record it. And everyone thought it was still her. Daft old bat.

Thanks Ripper. I’ve been checking in on some live streams over the course of the afternoon and was wondering why so few people were at the protest. A quick look at Google maps traffic confirms the city has closed all the routes in with big tail backs formed from several directions. Presumably they let just enough trucks in to support the ‘fringe minority’ narrative. Bastards.
I hope residents of the city will come out to bolster the numbers.

One thing that baffles me is why these people think that the official government line on something is the one that is most likely to be the correct one. Is it because politicians have a reputation for always telling the truth?
