Yeah, Well…

I am reminded of Heseltine here.

Liz Truss lengthened her lead over Rishi Sunak in the race to become the new Tory leader and prime minister with almost the-thirds of party members backing her to replace Boris Johnson.

The Foreign Secretary was the choice of 62 per cent of the membership polled by YouGov for Sky News tonight, against 38 per cent for the ex-chancellor.

I hesitate to say ‘good’ because I dislike both of them, but Truss winning would be payback for Sunak’s plotting. Much like Major’s win after Heseltine stabbed Margaret Thatcher in the back. I really, really do not want to see him getting the keys to Number Ten. Losing would be a well deserved reward.

  1. If Liz Truss wins the Premiership who will she pick for Chancellor? Now that’s an interesting question.

I imagine Fox News will be on this

    • November news: Joe Biden, America’s Foremost Quadruple-Vaccinated Dementia Patient, who recently tested Positive For Corona, has sadly passed away.

  3. A famous Heseltine quote. It’s become a cliché but there’s a reason all clichés are clichés:

‘He who wields the sword rarely wears the crown.”

On a side note, a major factor in the PCP’s inclusion in the run-off of so many women and ethnic minorities is obvious, but when the general membership get a say there is no way they will allow a billionaire Indian-heritage liberal to hold the reins of power. I certainly would not vote for him for that reason, amongst others.

*awaiting howls of abuse for ‘racism’*

    • Why would you want a PM who is still in short trousers? Clearly uses the same tailor as Drakeford.

  4. If Liz Truss wins, the chances of the U.K. being reduced to Nuclear ash compounds exponentially. She really IS that stupid.
One should be very careful what one wishes for. The odds are on that 62% of those who voted for her will bitterly regret their choice.
Better a slimy crook who only wants wealth that a dim female with fantasies of megalomania.

  5. There’s an idea that the Indian diaspora, however successful, is always still Indian. That it is liable to use Indian connections and favour Indians. Maybe that’s prejudice but in Rishi’s case he is very much an anywhere person and up to his neck in globalism and there is no indication that he is good for the special interests of the population of the UK.

  6. Is it a conspiracy theory to suggest that whoever gets into No10 will be merely reading the script, and following the instructions, of the Soros/Schwab/Gates WEF? Almost every head of state keeps claiming we must follow the Great Reset to Build Back Better. The problem is that no one will explain who will benefit from this. Everyone, or just the few elite of the 500 million that the WEF states is the ideal population of the planet?

    • Well, Rishi Sunak’s father-in-law is Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and former co-Chair of the World Economic Forum, so if I want less Klaus Schwab in my porridge I should stay well away from Mr. Sunak and extended family.

  7. The great thing about living in insular New Zealand is: that you have absolutely no idea what is going on in the wide world. May it always stay that way. I left Britain because the world became incomprehensible to me. Anyway, I’m going back to the cave to watch the shadows.

  8. Who was the joker who presented Boris with a birthday cake and kicking off “partygate”?

  9. @Alexander
    a billionaire Indian-heritage liberal

The Indian bit is irrelevant, it’s that he’s a mega rich Blairite tax dodging virtue signaling with tapayer money socialist WEF stooge

No doubt if he loses he’ll be off to his California mansion soon. Then parties with Duke Harry of Woke

    I want member ballot:
    – Johnson
    – Sunak
    – Truss

    • Indian is irrelevant to some, I agree. Others will be tempted to vote for him to prove their non-racist credentials. Others still absolutely will not vote for him based on his heritage. That is an uncomfortable fact, there not irrelevant to all.
