To be honest this particular issue has never entered my life in any way. If anyone had a go at me for using the wrong pronoun I think that I would probably take the piss.
Me neither, however, give it time. Young people have been systematically groomed to adopt this bollocks.
Yup, discussion on works Yammer last week, about putting preferred pronouns in your email signature. Those who didn’t see the point or thought it just virtue signalling were subject to arch comments about needing to show yourself as an ‘ally’…
But what if you are not an ally? I’m not, so fuck ’em.
Yes. My work did that. They were considering making it mandatory with HR punishing, and firing dissenters. I responded that I wanted to be called Master or Lord. For some reason it is now optional with no mandatory requirement for you to use pronouns. I don’t.
The part that amazes me most is that all the people pushing the nonsense cannot see how stupid and illogical they are. All this transgender business is a mental affliction that requires treatment in an appropriate institution.
I got a GCE English Language ‘O’ level in 1965. I know how to use pronouns, I don’t need “educating” by some ignorant teenager who thinks he* knows everything.
* Yes, that is the correct pronoun. 😉
Quite right, Frank. I got my English Language ‘O’ Level in 1955; we were taught that ‘he embraces she’.
Yes, he if the sex is unknown or if you are talking generally. Also, they can be used on such occasions.
