Sigh…

Arseholes like this give us all a bad name.

CCTV captured the horrific moment a motorcyclist hit three young schoolgirls while driving nearly double the speed limit in a hit-and-run.

Oskars Bolsteins, 27, has been jailed after ploughing into the trio while driving 55mph in the 30mph in Southampton on August 1.

Footage showed how Bolsteins was going so fast that when he braked the back wheel of his motorbike came off the ground.

His white Suzuki GSXR600 bike eventually came to a stop 31 metres up the road, however he fled without leaving his details and shocked witnesses rushed to help the young girls.

Frankly, the jail term was too lenient. He’s been hit with a two year ban, but that isn’t enough either. He needs his licence revoked.

Bolsteins – who had no licence or insurance at the time of the smash – was arrested and charged with causing serious injury by careless driving, failing to stop after a road traffic collision, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

Okay… that’s that one foiled then. If he does try to get a licence, presumably he will be required to take an extended test. But, frankly, his reckless behaviour shows he has no place on our roads. Unfortunately, we all get tarred with the same brush.

Ive never seen a motor bike rider stick to the speed limit

Because, of course, this hard-of-thinking cretin goes about everywhere with a calibrated speed gun, while presumably ignoring other road users who are also exceeding the posted limits (which are often inappropriate for the prevailing conditions, but I’d write an essay on that, so will leave it there). Unfortunately, it’s morons like Bolsteins that people notice. The rest of us riding quietly and competently don’t draw attention to ourselves.

  1. It does give motorcyclists a bad name, but why doesn’t somebody doing the same in a car give drivers a bad name? My guess is that almost everybody is a driver, motorcyclists are a minority. I suppose it’s like the eternal whine about cyclists who “all jump red lights” and “don’t pay road tax” (whatever that is).

  2. And another thing:

Ive never seen a motor bike rider stick to the speed limit

At last, a reason for SMIDSYs. If drivers don’t see law abiding motorcyclists it’s no wonder there are so many “sorry mate I didn’t see you” collisions.

  3. If it’s any consolation, Longy, from your interesting posts on the subject, I’ve reached the conclusion that motor-cyclist training takes longer and is much more thorough than that of a car driver.

  4. He is not a motorcyclist, he is a child on a motorbike. Similarly there are children in cars and children on pushbikes.

Children in politics and the media (in frighteningly disproportionate numbers). Children on YouTube and far too many child bloggers and “influencers”.

Know this and it all makes sense, or at least is unexplainable.

  5. No license – criminal sscum

Schools girls – why were they on road trying to dodge oncoming traffic?

I’d say girls are 80% to blame and speed maybe 20%. If it was HGV doing 30mph or MC and been wet and 30mph same would have happened
