In the midst of wokery, there are little glimmers of resistance and we should celebrate them when they happen.
Thousands of pin badges ordered for Scottish NHS staff who pledged to ‘respect the identity’ of trans people are lying unused after health workers ignored the ‘ideological’ scheme.
The SNP Government launched the initiative with NHS Scotland in 2021 to encourage staff to ‘respect the identity’ of trans people and adopt ‘inclusive language’.
Those who agreed were to be given a badge which they were asked to wear as an ‘ally to progress’ for trans people and other minorities.
But more than 10,000 of the badges have gone unclaimed as NHS workers failed to sign up, the Daily Telegraph reported.
This is good. The workplace should be apolitical. It should not be promoting any ideology. People go to work to work, not peddle this crap. I’d have refused as well and stuck to my guns on the matter. For exactly that reason.
Staff were told they must ‘call out hate speech’ and their badge would be a ‘signpost of safety’ for LGBT and minority groups.
Given that ‘hate speech’ merely means telling the truth, I’d have refused to go along with that as well. Bearing in mind that healthcare is all about biology, the denial of sex based differences is somewhat alarming – but maybe some people are showing signs of resistance. Resistance is good. More, please.
Most people want to be left alone to do their thing.
And will leave people alone to do theirs.
The trans thing is a step too far.
Sure, go and dress up as a woman/man. Go and play hide the submarine or whatever.
Just leave us out of it. And them trying to force us to partake with using “correct” pronouns, allowing blatantly male weirdos into female toilets, drag queen story time(wtf?) Is just pissing people off. Too much.
A “sign of safety”? Many people might see such a badge as a sign of a dangerous crackpot they would rather not have looking after them.
These people use the word ‘safety’ in a manner that is alien to the rest of us. What the actually mean is ‘enabling.’
