It’s A Start

Two and a half years.

Two Just Stop Oil protesters who scaled a bridge on the Dartford Crossing, forcing police to close it to traffic, have been sentenced to more than two and a half years each for causing a public nuisance.

Should have been more. A lot more.

Morgan Trowland, 40, and Marcus Decker, 34, used ropes and other climbing equipment to scale the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, which links the M25 between Essex and Kent across the River Thames, in October last year. The police closed the bridge to traffic, causing gridlock.

Trowland was sentenced to three years in prison, while Decker received two years and seven months. Spokespeople from the activist group said these were the longest sentences for peaceful climate protest in British history.

It was not a protest, it was bullying ordinary people in an attempt to impose an insane ideology. What now needs to happen is a few class action lawsuits for losses caused by these people. Once a few of them have been sued into penury, we might see some progress.

Judge Collery KC handed down the sentence, commenting that it was a strict punishment because he wanted to deter copycat actions. Both defendants were unanimously found guilty of causing a public nuisance.

Collery said: “You have to be punished for the chaos you caused and to deter others from copying you.” The judge said Trowland, who has six previous convictions relating to protests, had a “leading role”. Decker had one previous protest-related conviction.

He told the pair “[you] plainly believed you knew better than everyone else”, adding: “In short, to hell with everyone else.

Finally, a judge telling it like it is. My only criticism is that the sentences are over lenient.

What do you expect? This is the Graun reporting this story, and so they are going to be sympathetic towards these climate alarmist loons.

If it weren’t for the fact that these twats could have injured drivers or passengers on the bridge below them with their actions, I would have kept the bridge open and left those pillocks up there.

It will be interesting to see if these morons plan to do anything during the London Marathon on Sunday.

  2. I was delighted to read that Barry Hearn the Snooker promoter is planning to sue the idiot who trashed one of the tables in the Crucible and also inviting audience members to join in.

  3. A start, I certainly hope so, and I am starting to hope.

There has been a trickle of such stories recently. May this soon become a flood.

There is so much quiet, seething anger about, well, let’s call it the “zeitgeist”. This whole “woke”, “green”, “diverse” sea of societal sewage that the world has been turning into.

The reaction of the polluters has been increasingly to double down with their “revolution”(s), with ever more insanity, but the point has been reached where, for them, it’s a case of piss or get off the pot. We are seeing more examples of actual resistance other than (I’ve been guilty of this!) just internet anger, and it’s heartening if some judges perhaps are beginning to apply some actual justice.

These specific useful idiots are just brainwashed children and we’ll see if a few actual sentences might start to snap them out of it (and how children can turn on their parents. Keep an wary eye and watch, over the next few years, to see if any start to realise how they have been used).

But it’s not these clowns. They are just expendable cannon fodder. It’s the Wansee eugenic fascists who need to be targeted and sooner or later, somebody will start doing so directly. Hope I’m around to see that!

It wasn’t peaceful protest though was it? Peaceful would have been standing by the road holding banners and allowing people to see your message while going about their lawful business.

As for Just Stop Oil, my position has always been, Ok but you first. Demonstrate how you can live your life completely free from any oil based products and maybe then I might consider it. However you do need to be made aware that this would mean giving up literally everything, including food, housing and clothing, so good luck with that.

  5. And do the convicted ‘protestors’ also get a Criminal Behaviour Order?

“Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) are made after someone has been convicted of a crime, such as:

    A hate crime
    Criminal damage
    Assault
    Verbal abuse
    Vandalism
    Any other criminal offence”

Just to make the ongoing desire for martyrdom more costly.

  6. Slightly aside from their actions and beliefs, how do these numpties think the climbing equipment would have been made without the use of oil or a side of the petrol chemical industry? I would also suggest that if either one ends up sharing a cell with Big Bubba, who is feeling very lonely, they will very soon be screaming loudly for oil, and lots of it.

They have no clue. As far as they are concerned manufactured goods just appear in the shops. They simply have no concept of how the stuff got there, how it was manufactured and transported. That is why they are so convinced of their own righteousness about the issue, profound ignorance about matters of actual reality.
