They Walk Among Us

Unfortunately, they look like us, too. You know who I mean, the morons.

A 150-year-old painting of a woman has left art lovers baffled as she appears to be playing with an iPhone while walking along in the middle of the picture.

It’s a book. It’s obviously a book. Proof of time travel, it is not. Morons.

The image actually shows the woman focusing deeply on her hymn book, her devotion to God far greater than the mortal man and his Earthly desires.

Exactly. And this is news?

  1. There is a site called Bored Panda which occasionally posts a series of classic, usually renaissance, paintings with cartoon style captions. These sometimes have what seems to be modern things going on but they are meant as a joke. This painting would be a typical example, it would probably have a caption referencing tinder, Facebook or Twitter.

  2. First. Why the subliminal advertising for an Apple product.
Second. Nobody under the age of 50, 60, whatever, can conceive of a young woman being able to read, or even want to read, a book.

  3. Unless they send the infrastructure to operate the mobile phones (3G, 4G and 5G towers, electricity, computers for high speed digital switching etc.) then the smartphone would be a handy paperweight, nothing more.

But the type of person to make such a claim is unlikely to know enough about how technology works on a basic, nuts and bolts level to think that through. Technology is as natural as the air that they breathe and the sunlight that they don’t realise that it has to be built, maintained and powered.

    • “Technology is as natural as the air that they breathe and the sunlight that they don’t realise that it has to be built, maintained and powered.”

This is precisely the problem with the XR and Just Stop Oil brats. They are completely oblivious to the implications of the policies that they are proposing. The trouble is that most of our politicians are not far behind them on the ignorance and stupidity front.

    • I recall a story many years ago about a time traveller arriving in ancient Rome. Unfortunately, when he tried to impress them with his modern camera, he had no way of processing the images, so no one believed him. Whoever wrote that story got it.

  4. Got it in one. It’s double think applied to technology. Something can be imagined in the laws of physics free zone of the current zeitgeist “educated mind” – and presented on powerpoint – therefore it exists.

Failure to realise in the actual world can only be done to one thing – deliberate action by the current hate group (i.e. white men).

Mere reversion to cave living won’t change this mindset alas. A socket could be crudely drawn on a cave wall in mud and shit. That no power can be drawn from it would obviously be the fault of old white ugg.
