Political Prisoner?

Lucy Connolly.

The wife of a Tory councillor who was jailed for 31 months after an online rant about migrants on the day of the Southport attacks will reportedly appeal against her sentence.

And so she should. The prosecution, let alone the sentence, is an outrage in a civilised society. What she said was hyperbole and obviously hyperbole at that. It was the kind of lashing out in anger that we all do at some point in our lives.

Lucy Connolly, who is married to West Northamptonshire councillor Raymond Connolly, said in an X post on July 29: “Mass deportation now, set fire to all the fucking hotels full of the bastards for all I care… if that makes me racist so be it.”

This is not incitement to violence any more than “I’ll kill you!” that we heard as children was a direct threat against our lives. It was nothing more than angry words and she should not have apologised for them – unless she felt genuinely sorry for them, in which case, fine. I, for one, agree with her sentiments, but like her, I am not advocating arson, although I do agree that illegals should be immediately deported without any recourse to the asylum system. She most certainly should not be languishing in prison and the fact that she is shows up our justice system for the rotten third world dictatorship that it has become. Two Tier indeed.

Freedom of speech means the ability to speak our minds, no matter who is offended. While incitement to violence has never been covered, this is not it. It isn’t even close. This was a political prosecution, just as that of the rioters – while those who actively engage in antisemitic hatred are allowed to parade freely on our streets, or Nick Knowles of *Hate not Hope, stirred up the situation but was ignored by the legal system because he is on the ‘right’ side.

Yes, Two Tier indeed.

*No, that’s not a mistake.

  1. Who actually disagrees with her, or of the other political prisoners.

Going forward, let us refer them all as such. These “rioters” have committed actual crimes for which custodial or other sentences are certainly justified.

But so have (and do continually) others, and they are ignored.

Everybody reading this know the who and the why of this continuing oversight. By definition this makes these “rioters” political prisoners, part of a despised caste considered worthless.

If you are reading this, that includes you!

  2. 1867 Australia. At the trial of the Clarke brothers who were some of the bloodiest Bushrangers, the judge Sir Alfred Stephen, Chief Justice of New South Wales said “It is a cheap and vicious benevolence that feels for the perpetrator not the victim of crime.
Looks like our justice system is 157 years out of date.

  3. Frankfurt school marxism is eating away at civilisation as was intended. It’s obvious who the useful idiots are, but where is the command centre and who is pushing the buttons?

  4. “I don’t care if these illegals burn!”
    Is not the same as
“Come on lads, let’s go and burn the fucking place down!”

    Two Tier indeed
