The Clifton Suspension Bridge?
The Clifton Suspension Bridge has followed leftie paper the Guardian in boycotting X after Trump’s election win.
The iconic Bristol structure, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, has announced it will no longer post on X after “changes to the platform” made by Elon Musk.
Having lived in Bristol for nearly fifty years, I’ve never noticed the bridge offer an opinion on anything. What we have is the far left Bristol council or their sycophants making this decision in a pathetic attempt to appear relevant. Bristol is painfully woke with Palestine and progress flags everywhere, rainbow pedestrian crossings, and like London, looks like you’ve stepped into a foreign country. And don’t go to the museum unless you want to see apologies for the slave trade and murals explaining how black people need a safe place because presumably marauding honkeys are hunting them down or something…
Social media users have reacted to the news with derision, with one describing it as a “ridiculous statement” and another saying Brunel would have been “embarrassed to have such a set of pathetic wet blankets managing his engineering marvel”.
Indeed. I don’t suppose anyone on the platform will notice or care. Pathetic.
Suffice to say, I stay away from the city as much as possible.
“marauding honkeys”
It must be 30 years or 40 years since “honkey” was fashionable. Do you still wear tank tops and flared trousers? 🙂
Maybe we should bring them back.
If you are going to wear flared trousers, then bicycle clips will need to be brought back too … I think I discarded my bicycle clips around 1970 so I’m not sure where you can find a set.
Please, please tell me Wiltshire hasn’t been infected with the Bristol brain worm yet – l’m hoping to visit next year and have such fond memories from my teens when I studied in Trowbridge
Some areas have been, especially the centers of the larger conurbations.
On the outskirts of these, and in the countryside.. nope, we don’t want their shite.
Trowbridge seems to have survived.
