BBC Strike?

Unions are threatening to strike if the BBC cuts go ahead:

Broadcasting unions have unanimously voted to ballot for strike action if planned job cuts at the BBC go ahead.

Bectu, NUJ and Unite representatives said plans to close 2,500 posts and make up to 1,800 staff redundant would “undermine quality programming”.

Fuck me! Have I travelled back in time or something? Is this the winter of discontent? Is James Callaghan the prime minister? Have these half-wits not realised that three decades have passed? I mean, what do they think will happen if they walk out? Will the country grind to a halt without BBC propaganda quality programming? The only thing they will damage is their employer and ultimately their own jobs. They are behaving about as intelligently as the CWU.

NUJ general secretary Jeremy Dear said the BBC “must withdraw these plans, agree a framework for negotiations or face the potential of strike action”.

Fine, go ahead, do your worst; there’s plenty of good stuff on Freeview and DVD for me to watch.

Stupid sods.

PS – can I have my license fee back?
