Red Ed’s Message

According to the Millipede minor, the voters of Oldham and Saddleworth have sent a message to government.

The Labour leader said the party’s win in Oldham East and Saddleworth, with a majority of 3,558 also sent a “clear message” to the government.

Of course, being a lying, mendacious deceitful politician, he is being somewhat economic when it comes to the facts. You see, what Red Ed fails to mention is that despite his majority of 3,558 an even greater number didn’t vote at all; 52% in fact. So, given that and the other votes altogether, Labour scored a massive 20.2% of the electorate. Hardly an overwhelming vote of confidence and, frankly, the only message that I can see is a massive “fuck off” to the lot of them. There is another message that I can deduce from this result; a significant number of people in Oldham and Saddleworth have very short memories and the past thirteen years has been wiped from their collective memory. That or they want more of the same, but they are getting that anyway…
