Larry Comes to No 10

Number 10 is to have a cat once more.

David Cameron has welcomed a cat to Downing Street in an effort to deal with No 10’s rat problem.

The four-year old tabby, called Larry, has joined the prime minister and his family from London’s Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

The arrival follows weeks of speculation about potential pest control measures after a large black rat was seen scuttling past No 10.

A Downing Street spokesman said the former stray was a “good ratter”.

The Blairs it seems weren’t too keen on cats it was rumoured. If true, it says all we need to know about them. The Camerons like cats –  which gains an awful lot of forgiveness in my book.

Now, let’s see we have Larry:

And we have Louis (who is also a good ratter):

But which is best?

H/T Grim Reaper.

  1. A Black Rat, really ? If so the Camerons may be in breach of bio-diversity guidelines here, best send Zak Goldsmith round to check first.

  2. Creatures that get rid of Rats must be unpopular with most politicians. I bet Cameron doesn’t like them much either but feels he has to.

  3. Believe it or not, I have 13 cats (at the moment).

The number fluctuates, depending on births, deaths and adoptions.

Highest total (so far) was 27.

I can’t get enough of ’em.

I have pictures of my favourite, Gem-Gem, with no clothes on.
