No Action

The Attorney General is to take no action over the Sunday Herald publishing the name of he who cannot be named due to the injunction guaranteed to get his name spread like wildfire.

I’m sure that’s very big of the AG. However, as he is aware, we know that this is because Scotland has a different legal system and the injunction does not apply there unless specifically taken out under Scottish law. It wasn’t, therefore the injunction is not valid north of the border and the Herald is not in contempt. He is taking no action because he cannot.

  1. All together now…..

    HAAAAAARRGH HA HAAAAAAARRGH HAAA HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

On a more serious note, these types of injunctions do need to be tackled in some way – not for the benefit of spoilt rich adulterers, but for parents whose kids have been taken from them by social services and are unable to tell their side of the story. All in the best interests of the child of course. Not.

Do a google on Mark and Nicky Hardingham for one such example.

  2. I’m sure the Lord Advocate would delight in telling the Attorney general of England and Wales to take a hike.
