  1. I can see their point. In North Korea, the LAST thing you need, is to return home to find yourself arrested for “supporting the evil South”, which, by staying, they would in effect have been doing.

Other than that “FUCK the o-limp-pricks!”

  2. I can see why the North Koreans were offended but why let them get away with delaying proceedings for over an hour? Had the responsible official had a bit of common sense and balls (yes, I know that’s asking a lot) s/he would have said, yes we’re sorry, it won’t happen again and if you’re not back on the pitch in 5 minutes you’ll be disqualified.

I reckon the penalties inflicted on the team for returning to North Korea without playing would have been far worse than for not making an inordinate fuss.

  3. This is what happens when geography goes all social conscience and emphasises climate change lessons above countries’ capitals and flags.

  4. I suppose we can expect the Union flag to be flown the wrong way up too when we eventually win a medal can we?

The Titanic Games. You will find me tuned to the Agatha Christie channel (ITV3) for the next few weeks

  5. I can’t help feeling sympathy for them. I know that their nation is not exactly a bastion of freedom or democracy, yet they have fierce national pride. Don’t we too? Would we kick up a fuss if, at a sporting meet in America, our English players were pictured next to the Scottish Saltire? Or indeed, vice versa? Any blame for the delay must come down on the heads of the idiots who put the video together, or those who pretended to educate them.

    • They’ve been planning this wankfest for four years – you would have thought they would be able to get things like national flags right.
