Heh!

People often assume that Ukip supporters are white, Right-wing and racist. This stereotype was firmly entrenched in my mind until this week, when I discovered that my mother and sister – who are not white, Right-wing or racist – are now strident Ukip supporters.

Because, perhaps, Ukip voters are not necessarily white, right wing or racist and you just found out? The stereotype is one that your profession has peddled and you were wrong, much as the MSM are wrong about, well, just about everything under the sun –  and the moon, for that matter.

The other appeal of UKIP is that they are not Lib/Lab/Con and that’s a powerful plus in their favour.

  1. Almost all the UKIP supporters are white and right-wing (often from a Conservative Party background), but then I live in a strongly Conservative area.

In down-at-heel Labour areas I know people who used to be strongly supportive of Labour that are left-wing, white and love UKIP.

Most UKIP people are white, but we have quite a number of visible minorities in our party. There are Pakistani Muslims, Jamaican blacks, Orthodox Jews, Hindus and Germans, Italians and South Africans.

This isn’t an isolated phenomenon – if you look at the Progress Party in Norway, for example (which campaigns on a similar platform), or even the Sweden Democrats, they have a surprising number of their representatives and members from ethnic minorities too.

But then again, to some people (usually the sort of people that hate bigotry against gays then support Hamas) no matter how many ethnic minorities we have in UKIP, and no matter how many people the party has and no matter how high up, they will still call us racist and they will turn to calling these people racist names too, like ‘Uncle Tom’, ‘Coconut’, ‘Oreo’ and so on.

  2. As some of you know, I’m an allotment holder.#
Quite a lot of them are “traditional” labour voters. Quite a few are also various shades of brown.
Quite a few LOATHE the EU deeply … interesting, that, isn’t it?

  3. The entire thing comes across as ZOMGLOLZWTF !!!

    (UKIP aside)

We’re actually expected to believe that people genuinely don’t know the definitions of words anymore and, of course, it’s utterly impossible that her Jamaican-born mother and sister are indeed “right-wing and racist”, isn’t it. ‘Cos y’know, they’re not white and it’s The Law now.

Feigning such dizzy confusion is something some might find delightful in a child but it’s downright creepy in an adult.
