I think you will find most people already have the answer. Unless you are a crazed anti-smoking nutcase, that is.

And that is the point. Like other laws, the aim of this one is public protection – from second-hand smoke. But there is also a wider ambition too: to make smoking socially unacceptable.

It is not the role of the state to decide what is socially acceptable. It is the role of the state to protect our borders from invaders, to provide a justice system and to sweep the roads (although we could outsource that one), it is very little use otherwise.
