Iz it Coz I’z Muslim?

Is it?

Ali arrived at Birmingham Airport on Saturday afternoon ahead of the start of Worcestershire’s county cricket season, but was detained by members of the UK Border Force for 40 minutes.

The Birmingham-born all-rounder is a Muslim of Pakistani origin, and took to Twitter to complain that he was never stopped when he was travelling through airports with the rest of the England team.

Dreadful! Terrible! The Border Force are profiling, it seems.

…he was supported by fellow English cricketers Adil Rashid and Owais Shah, the latter saying “your beard might have something to do with it”.

Well, folks of Pakistani origin sporting beards have a bad rep just lately.

But…

Birmingham Airport officials confirmed Ali had been stopped by UK Border Force agents, but suggested this was because he had “exceeded his duty-free allowance”.

Ah. So the law applies to cricketers as well as we ordinary proles. So nothing to see here, then…

    • Dunno. Not really relevant. They stop all sorts. I’ve been stopped before. The forty minutes seems to have been a consequence of the duty free allowance. Maybe they had some suspicion before stopping him. They tend to have a sense for it. Either way, I have zero sympathy for his pathetic twatter whinge – which the perpetually offended seem to do these days, moan on the platform developed specifically for the hard-of-thinking and thin-of-skin.

    • “Hmm a muslim with fags, booze or perfume?”

Could be fags, muzzies don’t think a bit of fun with a pre-pubescent boy counts as homosexuality. Perfume is useful to disguise the smell of goat or camel.
