Where’s Dr Johnson?

Brexit will bring about war, now. Cameron talks of us turning our back on Europe. Brexit is about leaving the EU, not Europe. His appeal  to patriotism reminds me of Dr Johnson. It really is the last refuge of the scoundrel.

  1. Surely this must be another boost for the leave campaign. Laughable desperation! Can Cameron not come up with even one single credible reason for staying in? That is apart from him not wanting to watch his post PM sinecure sail over the horizon.

  2. “The UK has regretted ‘turning its back’ on Europe in the past, the PM said…”

Last time I checked, Mr. Cameron, Europe was NOT synonymous with the European Union. One is a geographic term, the other merely a political one. Withdrawing from a political union does not mean withdrawing all contact from Europe itself.

Either Cameron really does believe the British are as stupid as he thinks they are, or he actually wants the UK to leave, but can’t be seen to say so.

  3. Mr. Cameron has been caught out saying that Countries that have corrupt governments have corrupt governments when he thought no one was listening. Nigeria and Afganistan if I remember correctly. I’m so glad that I don’t live in a country where people who have a vested interest in promoting windmills get to decide how much of taxpayers’ money gets spent on windmills.

      • I was watching the BBC and saw no outrage. The commonwealth bod brought on to comment said yes Nigeria is very corrupt but the new prez is trying to do something about it

  4. But leave is coming out with the same made up exaggerated garbage. I can tell you, frothing accounts of jihadhi breast feeding single mothers on benefits are not working to change in voters.

    • That’s a tu toque argument. However, a couple of points; the Brexit crowd are amateurs when it comes to the mendacious scaremongering we’ve been seeing. Secondly, the Remain camp should be extolling the virtues of EU membership. However, as we’ve had 40 years of an unelected, unaccountable, anti-democratic elite pissing laws on our heads, passed by a supine parliament, there isn’t much to extol. Except, perhaps, free movement. That was always a good thing as it is a sound principle anyway.
