I Don’t Recall…

voting SNP

Nicola Sturgeon has said Scotland is in “a strong position” to block Britain’s exit from the European Union, in the wake of comments made by Prime Minister Theresa May after the pair met in Edinburgh.

Ms May had said that Article 50 would not be triggered until a “UK-wide approach” had been agreed.

Not that I would vote for a bunch of National Socialists anyway… But, here’s  the thing,  the SNP does not represent anyone south of the border.

As far as a UK wide approach is  concerned, we had that; it was called a referendum. UK-wide voted to leave. Now get the fuck on with it… And Nicola Sturgeon does not represent the UK and she must not be allowed to bully the rest of us and overturn a democratic vote.

“It puts me in a strong position, of course it puts a responsibility on my shoulders to think through what the options are.”

The options are; invoke article 50 as the UK electorate decided.

If the UK were to leave the EU, and Scotland attempted to rejoin after voting for independence, it would have to agree to less favourable conditions, such as joining the euro and the open border zone.

Tough shit. You want to join the club, you play by the rules.

Ms Sturgeon has previously said Scotland could remain in the EU while England and Wales leave it, but this is legally complex.

Yeah, right. We had a vote. You lost. Get over it.

    • It’s hardly a new phenomenon with Scots National Socialists, their one and only policy is to hate the English and wish them as much harm as they can manage.

You could see that with Salmond when being interviewed about the Scottish Referendum for Independence…

So you’ll be getting your own currency instead of Sterling, something like the Dram or the Porridge?

Och no! We’ll keep the Pound!

Er ok, so you’ll be getting rid of the Queen as head of State and getting a President?

Och no! She’s a spry old girl and spends lots of money in Balmoral don’t ya know.

Er yes well… So you’ll be re-applying to join the EU will you?

Och no! We’re already members, we love free stuff us Scots!

But the EU have told you that you will have to re-apply and then join the Euro.

      Och No, they’re bluffing.

Er, so what are you going to do for money now all your heavy industry has disappeared, and there are only 5 million of you? And you just produce Aberdeen Angus beef, Whiskey and Grouse Shoots?

Och we’ll have all the oil revenue which we will sell and keep ourselves bathed in power by carpeting the highlands in windmills, which as you know, is free…

Er, so what is “Independent” about this so called independence?

Completely and utterly off with the fairies!

  1. I’m fed up to the back teeth with that bloody whiney little squirt Jimmie Krankie sticking her bloody nose in.

If you want to rejoin the effin EU do so , us south of the border really couldn’t give a fuck what you do, rebuild Hadrian’s wall and put watchtowers up manned by EU stormtroopers if you like, just sod off…you might find the rest of the Scots don’t actually share your dreams of bending over and taking up the back from Brussells.

  2. Providing that Brexit eventually goes through as planned, and I think that it will despite those who are desperately searching for a plausible reason not to do it. We will be able to look back on all these sad losers with such delicious derision. It will be even more exquisite if the EUSSR actually implodes and these fools are forced to admit that the Brexiteers actually saved their bacon.

  3. There are two ways of looking at this: one is that May doesn’t want to leave the EU and can now blame the Scottish National Socialist Party for not implementing Article 50. The other is that Jimmie Krankie’s evil twin can now blackmail May’s government, as she did Cameron’s, to get what she wants in order to give her consent. Then, once that is done, just consider what the IRA, sorry, Sinn Fein, will demand. A true politician would have told Sturgeon that as she is little more than a County Councillor, she will he afforded the same courtesy as if the county of Surrey had a remain majority – namely, f#ck all.

  4. Hey fellas there’s a thumping great elephant in the room.

The EU stated categorically in 2014 that they did not want to see the UK break up. Part of the reason for this is there’s way more than Scotland to consider. The big one – and it matters far more than us lot – is Catalonia. Then there’s the Basques and goodness how many other historical conveniences that could well become self governing.

Northern Ireland does at least have a quasi argument re the EU; they just want to re-unite.

Gibraltar is between a rock and a hard place metaphorically speaking, so tough shit to them, especially as a large proportion of their residents are expatriated Brits.

Yes there was a genuine solidarity with the pillock who made his speech in Brussels, but the fact is they really do not want to set a precedent. Certainly not with Scotland where the books haven’t balanced for decades.

At some point Sturgeon will understand that it was her promise of a second referendum that resulted in the remain vote. Truth is many of the 44% who were robbed of independence in 2014 simply took this as a God Given opportunity to get their re-run.

Hey some of them have been camped in King’s Park since 2014 fer crying out loud!

If I know this, so too does Ms. Sturgeon – and she’s well aware that only 65% of voters turned out for the EU referendum, which is way down on the 85% who made the effort at the Scottish referendum. Nope, Ms. Sturgeon really doesn’t have the same mandate she had in 2014, because it’s far from certain that she will win a Scottish independence referendum, meaning she too will have to quit her post as First Minister.

Of the 65% who turned out, 62% voted to remain. That’s about 40% of eligible voters.

Our lot want their to keep their cake. Strurgeon is batshit nuts, but she is extremely ambitious and that’s not something the average Scot goes for. If they get the slightest whiff she’s putting us through all this just to get a job in the EU or some supranational body, they’ll turn on her and the SNP in a heartbeat.

    Don’t worry, I won’t tell.

  5. Before the EU referendum some in Scotland said that they would vote ‘remain’ in order not upset the UK union, indeed opinions before the referendum re. the EU were not much different than those in England.

The residents of Scotland were asked if they wanted to remain part of the UK and the majority said ‘yes’. As part of the UK they were asked to vote whether to remain in the EU and the majority of the UK said ‘no’.

  6. May slapped her talk of a veto down today. She will consult with them but May says she has the final say. Obviously wee Burnie wasn’t listening.

  7. The European Union don’t even want the SNP. They already have an oversupply of small, backward, income poor and debt laden countries led by whining angry Governments who are only interested in holding the cap out for money to fulfil a grocery list of spending promises… why they fuck would they want to add another one to that?

Frankly LaSturgeon is lucky there hasn’t been a vote in England on whether to give her and her subsidised country the boot from the other direction
