It’s The Office

John Bercow is now coming under fire for his virtue signalling yesterday. It seems that some of the MPs who mindlessly honked approval at his blatant partisan abuse of office yesterday are now discovering that back in their constituencies, they are out of touch with the people whom they represent and who pay their not inconsiderable salaries. Consequently, they are now gunning for Bercow.

Love him or loathe him, Trump is the elected president of the USA. In making his childish and hypocritical comments yesterday, Bercow did not insult Trump, he insulted the office of the president of the USA, a long-standing ally of this country. In so doing, he also showed disrespect for the office he holds. And, in welcoming leaders from countries guilty of appalling human rights abuses, he was doing what he is supposed to do – respecting the office of those holding it. You don’t have to like the man, but in his role I do expect him to respect the office of those who visit this country on state occasions and not abuse his role to engage in such childish petulance.

He should be removed from his post immediately as he is unfit to hold it.

The government is saying that he does not speak for them. Quite so. Nor does he speak for the country at large. I don’t much like Trump, the man, but as the POTUS, I welcome him here in that role as a representative of his country. Bercow is an idiot.

  1. He should be removed from his post immediately as he is unfit to hold it.

Bercow is the kind of stain which is best removed by a biological action washing powder.

  2. He came into office as the ‘least worst’ candidate and has failed to meet even this tawdry criterion.

    • Its worse than that, Labour specifically voted for him because they knew he was a complete sh*t and was hated by most of his own side. And as Bercow knew he owed his election to the Labour vote he’s favoured them ever since.

He [Bercow] should be removed from his post immediately as he is unfit to hold it.

    Hear, hear.

Bercow is an odious little man.

  4. What really got my goat was that he was praised personally by that arch hypocrite known as the Beast of Bolsover. He should really be known as the Twat of Bolsover. Claiming that he would ‘retire at 65 as he would never take another man’s job’. How old is he now and what is he still doing? Taking another man’s job. If there is a hell, it’s sharing a room with him and Bercow, for eternity.
