So, Why…

Are you making it one?

Doctor Who’s next companion will be the first to be openly gay.

Pearl Mackie, who plays Bill Potts in the upcoming series, told the BBC her character’s openness about her sexuality was important to represent onscreen, but not her defining characteristic.

“It shouldn’t be a big deal in the 21st century. It’s about time, isn’t it?” she said.

For something that isn’t a big deal, they are certainly making a big deal of it. I don’t care about people’s sexuality. I wish they wouldn’t make a big deal of it. I don’t want to know. I am not interested. So stop telling me about it and keep it private.

    • LOL Exactly what I was thinking.
Why do they think we are so fascinated by the nature of the nasties they prefer to bump?

  1. I watched the very first episode when I was 11, and not from behind the sofa either. William Hartnell was genuinely scary mind, but with the wobbly sets and the tinfoil monsters with the sink plunger sensors… well it was like a sci/fi version of Crossroads; All good fun but not to be taken seriously.
I stopped watching about two series ago, when the plots and convoluted time lines just got too ludicrous. And a gay assistant will not be tempting me back. It has become sad lame and lacklustre. Pity.

  2. Doctor Who has been destroyed by SJWs and they destroy everything else they touch. Even our superheroes from decades ago are being turned into pansies and all emotionally hurt by hurting the bad guys while saving people.

Luckily we still have books. Buy them while you can before they get around to editing them to make the bad guys simply misunderstood pansies who are ill treated by society and don’t deserve being punished for their crimes.

  3. Since time immemorial what people get up to in the bedroom or the privacy of their own homes has been nothing to do with anyone else. As much as Al-beeb wants to make it ‘relevant’, private fun and games are still of no interest to anyone else no matter how big the virtue badge is on the sleeve.
