Dear Mummy and Daddy…

For my homework, I have to explain to you why I am converting to Islam.

As you explained to me, I must study the faith before I think about such an important, momentous and life changing decision. My studies have led me to realise that Islam is a medieval belief system rooted in violence and conquest. It is a belief system that teaches that a man’s word is twice the value of a woman’s and that a wife must obey her husband and the teachings tell us that he may beat her if she falls short of his expectations. She must submit to him.

As well as a belief system it is a totalitarian, political ideology and legal system that treats women as less than men. It is based upon the word of God, not man and must be obeyed in all things.

Having studied this belief system, I have decided not to convert after all as I don’t want to wear a silly scarf over my hair or cover my face.

Love, your daughter…

  1. D’ya think I’ll get an A+?

    Unfortunately – No.

Teacher will report you to Gov’t’s “Prevent” hotline.

Next, parents’ house will be dawn raided by armed anti-terror police looking for “far-right” aka UKIP material.

SW Dept will put you into care with muslim fosters as you may be subject to extremism and emotional abuse.

  2. My first thought is that this is the Daily Mail and they have a reputation for just making stuff up, especially when it comes to matters pertaining to the religion of peace.

Assuming that the story is true, I would have to say that I am pretty disgusted. It is possible that this exercise could actually lead to actual conversions to Islam and actual ruined lives. Had my daughter been given this assignment, my first instinct would have been to totally kick off, but on reflection I would have been inclined to assist her in writing a thoroughly well researched and accurate account of why converting to Islam would be a terrible idea.
