Something is Seriously Wrong Here

The trend for anonymity for accusers in sex abuse cases reaches its nadir with Nick.

As an alleged sex abuse victim, Nick enjoys life-long anonymity, meaning it would be an offence for the Daily Telegraph to reveal his real name, even to the charity.

A spokesman for the NSPCC, which runs Childline, said on Sunday: “Without being given any details whatsoever we simply cannot confirm whether this individual’s claims are true or not.”

So this fantasist has created havoc making false allegations, has engaged in fraud – for that is what his speaking tours amount to along with his false claims for compo – and yet is so protected by the law that those who have suffered from his fantasies are unable to investigate? Seriously? And no one can see that there is something very wrong with this situation, such that it is allowed to persist? Those who, like Nick, accuse others falsely need to be prosecuted and sent to gaol – and named and shamed. What we have at the moment is an impediment to justice.

Following a lengthy investigation by Northumbria Police, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is considering whether to prosecute him for perverting the course of justice.

He could also face prosecution for fraud after it emerged that he had received thousands of pounds from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA).

Good. And remove the fucker’s anonymity. And while we are at it, level the playing field between accused and accuser. If one has anonymity, then so should the other. Neither or both, not one without the other.

But his allegations later had begun to unravel and the Met has since apologised and paid out hundreds of thousands of pounds in compensation to those who had their reputations traduced during the investigation.

And reclaim that money from Nick – why should we pay for his fantasies?

  1. considering whether to prosecute him for perverting the course of justice.

That they have to ‘consider’ tells us that it will be a political “can’t be seen to be attacking VICTIMS” decision.

  2. One wonders why a victim, or victim group, do not crowdfund or get backing and prosecute him privately for libel. Presumably if they did so under his real name without connecting that person to the name ‘Nick’ they would not be outing him?

    • That would appear to be the problem – without a court order, he remains anonymous, so the evidence against him is impossible to access as Childline has discovered.

Another possibility here is that the real victims quite possibly do not know his real name either…

  3. “And no one can see that there is something very wrong with this situation…”

Everyone can. But the ‘victim charities’ & progressive lobbies have the ear of those who make the laws. Even one of their own researchers getting royally shafted doesn’t seem to have woken them up.

  4. So, as tax payers we get to pay one lot of compo to Nick the liar, then another lot to his unfortunate victims, then we get to pay redundancy and pensions to any coppers who are sacked for their conspiracy to pervert the course of justice in the recent rape cases gone wrong (sorry for that last one, just my mischievous sense of humour gone wild)…

At what point do those who have fucked up or committed criminal acts have to start paying, and why is it never ever fucking mentioned?

The trouble with Brexit (bring it on) is that it has totally killed any possible debate about other important political issues – the ongoing trainsmash that is military procurement, the fact we are being robbed blind in order to channel generous bungs to foreign despots, this kind of shite.
