They are Right

The government has refused a public inquiry into the James Bulger murder.

The Government has refused to launch a public inquiry into the murder of Jamie Bulger, despite 190,000 signing a petition.

This year marks 25 years since the toddler was abducted from Merseyside and tortured and murdered by Britain’s youngest killers Jon Venables and Robert Thompson.

Jamie’s devastated mother Denise Fergus launched a campaign calling on Government to hold an investigation into the handling of her son’s case.

I have sympathy with Denise Fergus, but I’m firmly with the government on this one. There seems to be a trend these days to dig up old cases and pore over the remains for no good purpose – and there is no good purpose here. It was a quarter of a century ago. The two boys who committed the murder were caught and convicted. That, frankly, is the end of the matter. Not for his grieving mother, of course, but as far as the justice system is concerned, it’s done. Finished. Leave it where it belongs in the past. Government spends far too much of our money as it is. Pointless inquires are something we should not be spending money on.

One mystery surrounding the murder of James Bulger case is why the ‘experts’ insisted that Jon Venables was rehabilitated.

Fair point, but we don’t need a public inquiry into this case to explore why irredeemable psychopaths are allowed back out into society. It’s a wider problem than the Bulger case, I agree, but can be easily remedied by ensuring that murder carries a life sentence without parole regardless of the age of the offender.

    Mystery?

Nope, Lib-Left appeasers take-over of Criminal Justice system – Gov’t/Society/School blah to blame. Perpatrator was exposed/deprived of something

No need for a multi-million pound enrich solicitors Public Inquiry whose report will say “no ones fault, lessons to learn, new quango, more taxpayer money”

Some are born evil, recognise and lock-up.

    • Some people are just born evil and will always be evil. I recall nasty types when I was at school. I doubt they suddenly became decent upstanding citizens when they reached adulthood.
