There’s and Answer to That

The death of chivalry.

Of course, I don’t expect any special treatment, but since when did we become so uncompassionate and, frankly, so suspicious of one another?

Have you not been paying attention? Third wave feminism has been demonising men to the extent that now you will be treated with the same discourtesy and rudeness as everyone else. How do you like that equality? Not much, it seems.

My sympathy levels are pretty much non-existent.

Is this the flipside of equality? That people — especially men —have lost sight of what it is to be thoughtful or considerate?

No. We are demonised as sexist if we do, so damned both ways. Again, my sympathy is pretty much non-existent.

This is not about equality or feminism. There are some things in life that are simply respectful of others. For example, whether you’re a man or a woman, holding a door open for someone is polite, not an affront to one’s gender.

Don’t tell I, tell she – your sisters are responsible for this for they are the ones who take affront at a polite compliment or a door held open. Third wave feminism and identity politics have combined to destroy our social cohesion. Welcome to the brave new world created by the Marxists at the Frankfurt School. Nice, isn’t it?

  1. As our American cousins say: what goes around comes around. Correct, sis? — thought so.

  2. I have been interacting politely with people and spring loaded doors all my life and have never encountered rudeness or hostility from anyone. I did once read, a long time ago, of a woman being put out because some guy held a door for her but I have no idea whether the story was true. Maybe others here have had negative experiences?

  3. It’s long overdue that “Ladies” Powder Rooms in hotels etc were made as unpleasant as the “Gents”
