None So Blind

There is something about the ego behind those who decide to become an MP. To a greater or lesser extent, it is about their unfailing belief in their own ability and sense of importance – the over-inflated ego, the “I know best” attitude. And in the case of Fiona Onasanya, the complete lack of any sense of shame, of any sense that she has done anything wrong, the sense of being above the law and the little people. The sheer hubris and arrogance and in doing so, she gives us an insight into the mentality.

An MP convicted of perverting the course of justice has indicated she intends to stay in the House of Commons, despite facing a possible jail sentence.

Fiona Onasanya was suspended by Labour after being found guilty at the Old Bailey earlier this month. The party said in a statement that she should quit as MP for Peterborough.

But, writing in the Peterborough Telegraph, she said constituents should “rest assured” that she would remain their representative fighting injustice in the corridors of power.

That does rather depend on the length of the sentence, doesn’t it? I’d also point out here that someone who wilfully breaks the law and perverts the course of justice in an attempt to avoid conviction isn’t really someone who can preach to others about injustice.

If she does resign or lose her seat, Labour will face a tough fight to hold on to Peterborough, which it seized from the Tories by a wafer-thin margin of 607 in 2017.

Time to order in more popcorn.

  1. If Onasanya is sentenced to a term of imprisonment, and I would suggest it’s a big ‘if’, it will probably be suspended because, (a) she’s female, (b) she’s black, (c) she looks after a son who lives with her, and (d) there’s a possibility she’ll declare herself to be a born again lesbian.

Given how CPS Prosecution behaved in her first trial: she’s hard-working, honourable, community, minority, valuable, mother, carer, disadvantaged, blah – Yes Prosecution – a sentence of discharged with no stain…..

Would not surprise me. CPS & Judiciary is overrun with Left SJWs.

btw what’s happening with her “friend” – the liar MP, drug-dealer son and Lady Mother?

  2. Let her hold on for a bit longer she is doing us a favoiur. Don’t want May having her numbers increased at this stage of Brexit.

    And…

‘… she intends to stay in the House of Commons…’

So she shall be among her own kind, n’est-ce pas?

  4. “ … she would remain their representative fighting injustice in the corridors of power.”

“Corridors of power” – as in the corridors of B wing at Holloway? Perhaps she knows something the rest of us don’t ….
