Buffoons

You would think that having made such a hash of something simple like leaving the European Union, MPs would take some time to reflect upon their own awfulness, their own staggering incompetence, arrogance, contempt for the people they are supposed to represent and their selfish posturing.

Apparently not.

Tony the Tiger, Coco the Monkey and the menagerie of cartoon mascots that adorn children’s breakfast cereals would be banished from box fronts under a Labour government, deputy leader Tom Watson has said.

So that’s it. Nasty, petty authoritarian behaviour remains. Not once have these charlatans demonstrated any sense of remorse or shame. Nope, they carry right on with their tin-pot wannabe dictatorships.

Refined sugar is “every bit as deadly” as tobacco, and the advertising industry’s tactic of using playful characters to appeal to children is “grossly irresponsible”, he is expected to tell industry officials on Wednesday.

Yeah, of course it is… But then, the dangers of tobacco have been overstated by these people, so perhaps he is right. But that slippery slope is looking much like the road outside my house this morning – covered in sheet ice.

The fight against these nutters continues apace, it seems.

  1. They certainly overstated the case with tobacco. Many people enjoy tobacco hugely and resent the efforts of these twats like Tom Watson to spoil their pleasure with their ridiculous taxes and stupid idiot packaging. If you don’t
like something don’t consume it but leave it alone for others to enjoy. And they wonder why people do everything they can to support smugglers !

  2. ‘Refined’ sugar is sugar… sucrose, glucose… exactly what is found in fruit and veg.

The political class understands no science.
