Really?

Seriously?

The broadcaster Danny Baker has been fired by BBC Radio 5 Live following allegations of racism over a tweet about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s newborn son, Archie, that featured a picture of a chimpanzee.

The tweet, which has since been deleted by Baker, showed a black and white photo of a well-dressed couple next to a suited chimpanzee with the caption: “Royal baby leaves hospital.”

Baker apologised for using the picture but was sacked on Thursday morning, leading him to lash out at the corporation over its handling of the incident.

So, just another day in clown world. And the BBC is the centre of the circus, frankly. But Baker’s response to all of this is interesting.

Following allegations of racism over the tweet, Baker deleted the post on Wednesday. “Sorry my gag pic of the little fella in the posh outfit has whipped some up. Never occurred to me because, well, mind not diseased,” he said.

Given that he is 61 and has been around the block and works in the incestuous environment of the media, you would have thought he would see that one coming. I mean, everything is racist these days – especially pictures of apes, apparently. Is he seriously telling us that he did not anticipate that someone, somewhere, would have taken offence and kicked up the usual shitstorm? Or did he think that it being a dig at the Royals, the usual rules wouldn’t apply?

  1. The irony is that I suspect he thought he was playing to the SJW gallery by making a dig about how the royal couple could dress up an animal as their baby and the masses would fawn over it just the same, but forgot that anything related to apes and anyone not pure white skinned is verboten, and his chosen audience turned on him, and mauled him.

    • I suspect you are right. However he should have realised by now that appeasing the SJW crowd is like trying to tame a Nile crocodile. It will inevitably end in tears.

  2. So let me get this right – SJWs see a picture of an ape and immediately think of a black person but imagine it’s _other people_ who are racist?

  3. “Or did he think that it being a dig at the Royals, the usual rules wouldn’t apply?”

They always overplay their hand in the end. It’s fun whipping up a mob, until the mob turns on YOU…

  4. They eat their own. It sure is fun to watch that happen.

As the rest of us go underground they will get more and more shocked in the future when polls show 100% support for something yet only the vocal SJWs sign up to it and it fails. Brexit, Trump and the upcoming EU elections are a sign of things to come.

  5. Anyone with a mature outlook, someone who self identifies as an adult, knows that Twitter is an infantile place populated almost entirely by kidults. As such it is better to ignored. Interesting that those actually running the BBC are not above such childish nonsense.

  6. It seems a leftard is blown up by his own petard. You see eventually all these suppressive rules about freedom of speech come full circle to bite the SJWs who invent them.

  7. Never liked Baker so won’t lose any sleep over his sacking. BTW; the sound you can hear in the background is the World’s tiniest violin.
