  1. I’m left wondering what is the travesty of democracy that she is referring to? I was aware that the EU parliament had very little actual power but I thought that the processes involved would be democratic. I would have expected this to be the case since I see the EU parliament as only existing in order to give the appearance of a democracy while all the actual decisions are made by unelected apparatchiks. It seems that they can’t even do pretending to be a democracy right.

  2. Being an atheist who occasionally visits atheist blogs, I am mostly made aware of Ann’s opinions on matters of religion. As you can probably imagine, I am very rarely in agreement with her. So now finding her to be absolutely on my side is interesting to say the least. It is as though there is a huge tear in the fabric of reality.

  3. Says a lot for the character of Widdecombe that she’s prepared to tell it like it is and be damned if she’s going to apologise for it.
We could do with a load more like her…
