Waaaaaaah!

Oh dear, how sad, never mind. Even Jeremy Corbyn in his attempt to join the bandwagon of power grabbing anti-democrats can’t be bothered with Anna Soubry. And, let’s be fair, why would he? Why would anyone? Which is pretty much what the comments below her little tantrum agree upon. One of the benefits of social media is that the gatekeepers – the politicians and the journalists – now get an immediate reaction from the public to their idiocy and the public are not backwards in coming forwards and telling it like it is. If there is any doubt about just how out of touch these people are, then the comments responding to Anna Soubry here are a stark reminder, for they are pretty much all negative.

Indeed, the only person to take Anna Soubry seriously is… Anna Soubry.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in clown world, these people are seriously proposing that either Ken Clarke or Harriet Harmon take over as unelected prime minister in defiance of the Fixed Term Parliament Act 2011.

The Liberal Democrat leader, Jo Swinson, has revealed the party’s proposals to stop a no-deal Brexit, including an emergency cross-party government, led by Kenneth Clarke or Harriet Harman, to replace that of Boris Johnson.

Speaking the day after Jeremy Corbyn urged opposition leaders to back a Labour plan to topple Johnson, via a no-confidence vote, and install him to lead a caretaker government before a Brexit-based general election, Swinson said she did not believe his plan was feasible.

Corbyn would not command sufficient support from rebel Tories and independent MPs to form a stable government, Swinson said in a speech, in London, in which the party introduced its newest MP, the former Tory MP Sarah Wollaston.

Jesus Christ! If nothing else, this process has drawn these reptiles blinking out into the daylight; their undemocratic credentials now exposed for the world to see. Jo Swinson is distinctly illiberal and undemocratic and her party is thoroughly disreputable as a consequence of this disgraceful behaviour.

We had a people’s vote. These bastards lost. Yet they have spent the last three years whining, complaining, stamping their feet and engaging in the biggest temper tantrum it has ever been my misfortune to witness.

And, having done that, as they watch the clock ticking down, they now abandon any pretence of democracy in their attempts to thwart that outcome. Even a coup. For that is what this is. A coup. The act of parliament outlines what will happen in the event of Boris Johnson losing a vote of no confidence. Nowhere does it involve seizing power via illegitimate means. Nowhere does it involve installing Ken Clarke or Harriet Harmon, God preserve us.

Still, I guess now everyone can see what I’ve been complaining about all these years. You can’t miss it. It just got up and bitch slapped you across the face.

  1. Ken Clarke FFS hell why not? Why not Nick Clegg? Hell, if we are going to abandon democratic principles completely, why not invite Juncker in to take over?

  2. The thought of J Corbyn as PM… And some pretty stupid Tory MPs seem ready to go along with it. Do they think he will calmly walk away after the inevitable vote of confidence? Come into my parlour said the spider to the fly….

  3. Fortunately, even the lunatic fringe of the Monster Raving Soubry Party can see that this whole Disunity Government to Repudiate BRExit plan is a non-starter.

Soubry’s bunch apart, there plenty Tory, SNP and Labour MP’s that would support a vote of no confidence in Boris to block BRExit, but would balk at “Helping Hitler Stalin Jeremy Corbyn into power”.

Quite why Conservative Party HQ hasn’t sent out a letter to all Tory MP’s saying “Any MP voting against the Government, either in a vote of no confidence or in a change of PM will be expelled from the Tory Party”.

In truth, it shouldn’t even need to be said, but given the childish and treasonable behaviour of Grieve et all, maybe it needs to be said.

  4. I’m beginning to think that getting us out of the corrupt undemocratic and wasteful EU has become to be of secondary importance with regard to the referendum result. Shining a bright light on the true nature of the denizens of Westminster has been even more significant. We can see now just what a stupid and disreputable bunch of vermin they truly are.

  5. Not to worry, Karma has already set up a future moment where the obnoxious and self preening Soubry meets her constituency voters at the next election and is promptly dumped on her arse (and probably in at least 3rd or 4th place)

It’s the little things that inspire sometimes.
