Oh, Fer Gawd’s Sake…

This world has gone to the dogs, really it has.

Ikea has apologised after selling a jerk chicken and rice and peas dish cooked with the wrong ingredients in cafes inside its UK stores.

Rice and peas, a traditional Caribbean dish, is made using long grain rice, kidney beans and coconut milk.

The Swedish company appears to have taken the “peas” in the dish’s name literally and created a dish featuring green garden peas cooked in plain white rice.

So what? Why should anyone care? Oh, but, we have to allow for the vacuous morons on Twitter.

“This is Ikea’s jerk chicken and rice and peas and no I’m not eating it,” wrote one Twitter user, posting an image of the rice.

Fine. Don’t eat it then. But do we need to know? (Rhetorical question).

“When cultural appropriation goes wrong,” added a second.

This is why I despise Twitter. It actively enables morons such as this. There is no such thing as cultural appropriation. It is an artificial construct created by the regressive left in order to create division where there was none. It is fake. It is bullshit. It is utter, utter nonsense and the lackwits who bang on about it are morons. But, Twitter, so what do I expect?

We’re aware that our new jerk chicken, served with rice and peas has created some conversation and in some cases offence.

Any one stupid enough to be offended needs to be offended good and hard on a regular basis until they develop a sense of proportion. Idiots.

  1. Was that a reference to Pink Floyd?

The feeble witted Twitterati don’t bother me too much, we just need to point and laugh. It is the inevitable apology that is annoying. I know that pissing off your customers is probably bad for business and the apology is just marketing, but maybe they should consider that by apologising they are pissing off everyone else.

  2. Next we will have Indian restaurants apologising for adapting their recipes to the British palate. I don’t suppose the Twateratti think of that do they?

  3. All because of one single protest from a professional offendotron. The world has gone mad. What next,1,300 kebab van owners sued by the Turkish government for cultural appropriation.

  4. By my standards it seems to me that the Twatterati are badly educated and mostly reside within the M25.
