Oh Dear, How Sad, Never Mind

The impeachment process has failed.

The Senate overwhelmingly acquitted President Trump on both articles of impeachment against him Wednesday afternoon following a brief trial, in a historic rejection of Democrats’ claims that the president’s Ukraine dealings and handling of congressional subpoenas merited his immediate removal from office.

Can’t say that I am surprised as the case was wafer thin. From what I can see is that the investigation request into corruption was perfectly fine. There is some allegation that this was tied to aid, but the aid went through anyway. At least, that’s my understanding.

The corruption? Seems to have been the Bidens… Allegedly.

Anyway, the acquittal will be causing heads to explode in all the right places.

Meanwhile, with Trump’s approval ratings riding high and the Democrats in disarray, it looks like  a Trump win alter this year.

  1. I don’t think that it was ever about whether Trump had done anything wrong. It seems to me that this was all about the normal cut and thrust of international politics and that other presidents had done far worse things in the past without impeachment proceedings taking place. It was more about the left’s inability to accept that they lost and their attempts to overturn the result of the election.

I noticed that over here our balanced media were only playing clips of comments by people who were disappointed by the acquittal.
